Woodlawn permit count jumps 81%, new ALDI gets licenses
Woodlawn issued 29 permits in January, up from 16 the month before. Nineteen were express permits. Total construction value dropped 15% to just under $2 million. Four new businesses opened, including an ALDI that picked up package goods and retail food licenses, plus RG TREE and RIAH INTERNATIONAL INC. NFP. Residents called in 576 service requests—mostly potholes (87) and snow removal (46). Violent crime rose 26% to 111 incidents. Food inspection failures fell from four to two.
