Crime jumps 67% while nine businesses open
West Pullman logged 222 crimes in February, up from 133 the month before. Violent offenses rose from 48 to 66. Nine businesses opened, including One Stop Food Whole Sale, a tobacco shop, and National Material Processing. Permit value dropped 73% to $215k, mostly because 15 of the 18 permits were express jobs. Service requests ticked up 9% to 776, led by 123 tree-trim calls—a category the city no longer accepts but residents keep filing. One food establishment failed inspection.
