Crime spiked in West Lawn in March — 144 incidents, up from 100 the month before. Violent offenses climbed even faster, from 21 to 34. The neighborhood added 14 new businesses, including Churros Tapatios (a shared kitchen user), Carniceria La Hacienda No 2, and Save A Lot. Graffiti removal requests led 311 calls at 115, followed by 78 abandoned vehicle complaints. Sixteen permits were issued, most through the express program, totaling $194k. Food inspection failures ticked up from three to five.
