West Englewood permit count drops a third
West Englewood issued 29 permits in September, down from 44 the month before. Permit value fell 26% to just under $793,000. Nineteen of those permits came through the city's express program. Service requests dropped even more sharply—1,144 calls, down a quarter from August. Garbage cart maintenance led the list with 107 requests, followed by tree debris cleanup and abandoned vehicle complaints. Crime ticked down slightly, with 415 incidents reported compared to 435 in August. Six food establishments failed inspections, three fewer than the prior month. No new businesses opened and none closed on record.
