Washington Heights permit value doubles to $2.1M
Permit spending in Washington Heights nearly doubled in July, hitting $2.1 million on 33 permits—up from $1.1 million the month before. Most of that came through the express permit program (26 permits), with another seven for renovations or alterations. Tree debris cleanup led 311 requests at 150, followed by garbage cart maintenance and tree emergencies. Crime ticked up slightly to 248 incidents, though violent offenses dipped a few points to 69. No new businesses opened and none closed. Two restaurants failed inspections, double June's count.
