Uptown permit value jumps to $5.1 million
Uptown's permit total climbed to $5.1 million in October, triple the prior month, even as the number of permits dropped from 42 to 33. Twenty of those were express permits, eight covered renovations or alterations. Service requests fell 17 percent to 1,009; graffiti removal led with 144 calls, followed by 73 rodent complaints. Violent crime was down 19 percent. No new business licenses or closures hit the city's books.
