Permit value in South Shore jumped 218% in July, reaching $4.2 million compared to $1.3 million the month before. The neighborhood saw 55 permits issued, up from 40 in June. Nearly half were express permits — 29 total — with another 15 for renovations or alterations. New construction and sign permits rounded out the activity. No new businesses opened or closed during the month.
