South Lawndale permit value drops to $1.25 million
South Lawndale pulled 26 permits in February, down three from January, with total value falling to $1.25 million from $1.66 million. Most permits came through the express program—16 of them—while seven covered renovations or alterations. Residents filed 1,214 service requests, a quarter fewer than the month before. Graffiti removal led the list at 314 requests, followed by 162 tree trim calls. Crime ticked up slightly to 268 incidents, though violent offenses dipped from 90 to 87. One food establishment failed inspection, down from five in January.
