Permit spending in South Chicago quadrupled in June, climbing from $353k to nearly $1.47 million. The neighborhood issued 21 permits, up one from May, with 17 filed under the express program. Residents called 311 about street lights (130 times) and tree debris (109 times). Violent crime ticked up from 123 incidents to 130. Two food establishments failed inspection, double the prior month. No new businesses opened or closed.
