South Chicago permits drop 90% to $353k
Twenty permits were pulled in South Chicago in May, down from 30 the month before. Total value fell to roughly $353,000—a 90% drop from April's $3.4 million. Fourteen of the permits came through the express program. Three were for renovation or alteration work, one for demolition, one for new construction, and one for elevator equipment. No new businesses opened or closed.
