O'Hare permit value jumps to $6.6 million
Permit value in O'Hare hit $6.6 million in April, up 232 percent from March, even as the permit count fell 23 percent to 23. Twenty of those were express permits; three were for renovation or alteration. Aircraft noise complaints accounted for 39,613 of the neighborhood's 39,952 service requests. Crime dropped 37 percent to 67 incidents, with violent offenses down 52 percent to 14. New licenses went to Meitheal Pharmaceuticals, a McDonald's, and several airport lounges including Berghoff Cafe and United Club outposts. Twenty-nine businesses opened; none closed.
