O'Hare aircraft noise complaints spike to 39,032
Aircraft noise complaints accounted for 39,032 of O'Hare's 39,280 service requests in October, a 26% jump from September. Permits fell 45%, from 44 to 24, and their total value dropped 42% to $2.7 million. Most of the permits were filed through the express program. Violent crime climbed 38%, from 24 incidents to 33. Five food establishments failed inspections, up from one the prior month. No businesses opened or closed.
