Violent crime in North Center rose from 23 incidents in June to 33 in July, a 43% increase that outpaced the neighborhood's overall crime bump of 18%. Total 311 requests climbed 15%, led by 171 rodent complaints and 132 tree planting requests. Permit count ticked up slightly—51 vs. 46 the month prior—but total construction value fell 40%, from $9.5 million to $5.8 million. Seven food establishments failed inspections in July, up from one in June. No new business licenses were issued.
