Reported crimes in New City more than doubled in February, jumping from 126 to 270. Violent offenses climbed from 50 to 102. New business licenses plunged 85 percent—from 243 to 36—though pop-up retail users like Wonga Ayiti and Mariana Crespo still came through. Permit value fell 96 percent, from $115.9 million to $4.3 million; 12 of the month's 25 permits were Express Program filings. Service requests rose 27 percent, with 201 abandoned vehicle complaints leading the list.
