New City's permit value shot up nearly 300% in December, landing at $9.7 million — a huge swing from November's $2.4 million. Permit counts actually dropped by 40%, from 35 to 21, meaning a few high-dollar projects drove the spike. Express permits led the way with 13 issued. Service requests fell 16% to 943, with graffiti removal topping the list at 190 calls. Crime dropped 7% overall; violent offenses were down 23%, from 134 to 103. One food establishment failed inspection.
