Near North Side permit value jumps to $134 million
Permit value in Near North Side more than doubled in December, hitting $134 million compared to $55 million the month before. The 164 permits issued were down slightly from November's 171, but the dollar figure tells a different story. Express permits led the way with 101 filings, followed by 29 renovation or alteration permits and 22 for elevator equipment. One new construction permit also came through. No new business licenses were recorded for the month.
