Montclare permit count doubles, sign work leads
Montclare issued 16 permits in May, double April's eight. Sign permits accounted for a dozen of those, with total permitted work valued at $113k. Service requests climbed 23% to 432, led by 49 tree-trim calls (a category the city no longer accepts) and 43 abandoned-vehicle complaints. Violent crime rose from 12 incidents to 17. No new businesses opened and no restaurants failed health inspections.
