Montclare permit value jumps to $319k in December
Seven permits in December pulled in $319,332, up nearly tenfold from November's $29,525. The surge came mostly from renovation work and a couple of elevator equipment permits. Eight new businesses opened, including Sandwichon Cafe and a Popeyes. Crime dropped 40 percent — from 58 incidents to 35 — with violent offenses cut nearly in half. Service requests fell 9 percent, though garbage cart maintenance and recycling cart issues still led the list. One food inspection failed.
