Loop permit value hits $355M on construction spike
October's permit value in the Loop exploded to $355 million, up 738% from September's $42 million. The 276 permits included 196 under the express program and eight tagged as new construction—presumably at least one drove the dollar jump, though the payload doesn't name projects. Service requests climbed 31% to 1,255, led by 613 graffiti removal calls. Violent crime dipped 8% to 164 incidents while overall crime rose 8% to 853. Food inspection failures tripled from two to six.
