Logan Square crime falls 38% in April
Crime dropped to 234 incidents in April, down from 379 the month before. Violent offenses fell 14.5%, from 62 to 53. Graffiti removal topped 311 requests with 544 calls, trailed by 381 pothole complaints. A Beautiful Rind opened with retail food and on-premise consumption licenses. A new McDonald's also got licensed. Permits slipped to 56 from 62, but their dollar value cratered 57% to just under $10 million. Express permits accounted for half the activity. Four food establishments failed inspections, down from five.
