Violent crime in Lincoln Park dropped to 42 incidents in December, down from 66 the month before. Overall crime rose 11% to 379 reports. The neighborhood logged 74 permits worth $15.8 million, a 6% decline in value from November. Express permits led with 28, followed by 22 renovation jobs. Service requests fell 13% to 1,286. Tree trim requests topped the list at 255, though the city no longer accepts that category. Graffiti removal came in second with 134 calls. Four food establishments failed inspections, down from seven.
