Hyde Park permit value hits $105.6M on construction spike
Hyde Park's permit value jumped from $179,000 in April to $105.6 million in May—a 58,830% surge driven by new construction filings. The neighborhood issued 41 permits, up from 19 the month before. Seven were for new construction; 25 went through the express program. Service requests fell 12% to 354, with potholes (30) and water on streets (28) leading the list. Crime dropped 8% to 172 incidents. Violent offenses were down 14% to 49. No food inspection failures this month, compared to three in April.
