Crime falls 56% as street potholes top 311 list
Hermosa recorded 48 crimes in April, down from 109 the month before—a 56% drop. Violent offenses fell from 26 to 17. Residents filed 723 service requests, with 94 for street potholes leading the pack. Six new licenses were issued, including Safeway Food Market Inc. for tobacco, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center for indoor events, two ecoATM kiosks as secondhand dealers, Santamaria Food Services as a retail food establishment, and Logan Auto Fix for motor vehicle services. Permit value dropped 52% to $219,528, though the count rose from 11 to 13. One food establishment failed its health inspection.
