Edgewater permit value hits $5.5 million in December
Edgewater's permit value jumped 410 percent in December, reaching $5.5 million even as the number of permits dropped from 22 to 15. Renovation work and the city's express permit program each accounted for six permits. Crime fell 15 percent to 251 incidents, with violent offenses down 22 percent. Graffiti removal led service requests with 129 calls, followed by tree trim requests at 101. Failed health inspections dropped to nine from 15.
