Edgewater permit value jumps 230% to $7.4 million
Permit value in Edgewater hit $7.4 million in July, more than triple June's $2.3 million, even as the number of permits fell from 47 to 40. Express permits led the way with 21 filings, followed by 11 renovation-alteration jobs. No new businesses registered, and none closed. Service requests dropped 11% to 1,196, with graffiti removal topping the list at 175 calls. Crime ticked up 14% to 320 incidents, including an uptick in violent offenses (89, up from 72). Food inspection failures quadrupled to eight.
