East Side crime climbs to 134 in September
Crime in East Side rose to 134 incidents in September, up from 105 in August. Violent crime accounted for 38 of those, a 31% jump. Permits fell by a third—10 jobs total, down from 15—and their combined value dropped from $1.6 million to $513,000. Six of the permits were express work. Residents filed 184 tree-planting requests, triple the next-highest 311 category. Three food establishments failed inspections after none did in August.
