Douglas permit count doubles, elevator work leads
Douglas issued 24 permits in September, up from 11 the month before, though total dollar value dropped 81% to $1.5 million. Fifteen of those permits were for elevator equipment. Graffiti removal requests led 311 calls with 38, followed by 35 reports of dead streetlights. Crime fell 16% to 246 incidents, violent offenses down slightly to 77. No new businesses opened or closed. Two food spots failed inspections, down from three.
