Chicago Lawn permit value jumps 61% to $5.5M
Chicago Lawn logged $5.5 million in construction permits this month, up 61% from March's $3.4 million. The 36 permits included 24 through the express program and nine for renovation work. Service requests held flat at 1,699, with the usual suspects leading: 284 tree-trim requests (the category the city no longer accepts) and 210 graffiti removals. Crime ticked down slightly—397 incidents versus 408 last month—but violent offenses rose from 134 to 143. Food inspections failed twice as often: 10 this month compared to five in March.
