Chicago Lawn permit value drops 70% to $890k
Permit volume in Chicago Lawn ticked up 12% to 48 in October, but total value fell 70% to $890k—down from nearly $3 million the month before. Most permits came through the Express program (35 of 48). Crime dropped 4% overall, though violent offenses rose 6% to 190. Graffiti removal requests led 311 calls at 181, followed by abandoned vehicle complaints at 132. Food inspection failures more than doubled to seven from three. No new businesses registered.
