Chatham permits drop 35% despite stable construction value
Chatham logged 24 permits in September, down from 37 the month before—a 35% slide. But the total value held fairly steady at $746k, just 6% off August's $794k. Twenty of those permits came through the city's express program, which handles smaller jobs. Three renovation permits and one elevator permit made up the rest. No new businesses opened, and the other datasets showed zeros across the board.
