Bridgeport permit value drops 54% despite more projects
Bridgeport pulled 24 permits in June, up from 20 the month before, but their total value fell by half—from $2 million to $898k. Seventeen were express permits, the kind filed for quick electrical or plumbing jobs. Two wrecking permits suggest demolition somewhere in the neighborhood. Service requests climbed 11%, led by 163 graffiti removal calls and 110 requests to plant trees. Violent crime rose sharply, from 34 incidents to 46. Overall crime was up 20%. No new businesses registered and none closed.
