Beverly tree crews field 155 debris calls in July
Tree debris cleanup led Beverly's 977 service requests in July, up 7% from June. Residents also logged 106 tree emergencies and 82 removal inspections. Twenty permits were issued, down from 23 the prior month, but their total value hit $1.06 million, an 9% bump. A dozen express permits accounted for most of that activity. Violent crime rose to 31 incidents from 25, a 24% jump. Overall crime edged up 4% to 97 cases. No businesses opened or closed.
