Avondale permit value hits $3.2 million in September
Permit value in Avondale climbed 26% to $3.2 million in September, even as the number of permits dropped from 37 to 32. Most were express permits (19) or renovation work (10). Residents filed 242 graffiti removal requests, about a fifth of the neighborhood's 1,160 service calls—down 24% from August. Crime ticked up 7% to 207 incidents, including 56 violent offenses. Four food establishments failed inspections, up from one the month before. No new business licenses were issued.
