Austin permit count jumps 25% on express filings
Austin logged 91 permits in July, up from 73 the month before. Sixty-seven were express permits—the fast-track variety for smaller jobs. Total permit value nudged up 8% to $3.2 million. Renovation work accounted for 17 permits, new construction for three. No new business licenses or closures showed up in the data this month.
