Austin permit value jumps 41% on fewer filings
Austin logged 55 permits in December worth $3.7 million, down 17% by count but up 41% in value from November. Express permits—typically smaller-scale work—made up 43 of the 55 filings. The bump in dollar value came despite fewer overall applications, suggesting at least one or two bigger-ticket projects in the mix. No new business licenses showed up in the city's December data for the neighborhood.
