Crime doubles in Ashburn as permit value drops 75%
Ashburn logged 177 crimes in February, up 116% from 82 the month before. Violent offenses more than doubled, from 24 to 52. Permit value fell from $2.1 million to $524,000, a 75% drop, even as 18 permits were issued. Nine new businesses opened, including CVS/Pharmacy #4979, O'Reilly Auto Parts #3383, and Kenin's Pet Grooming Shop. Residents filed 848 service requests, up 18%, led by 132 pothole complaints. No food inspections failed.
