Ashburn permits drop by half but value jumps to $4M
Ashburn issued 24 permits in February, down 44% from January's 43, but total value climbed 151% to just over $4 million. Twenty-one of those permits came through the city's express program. No new businesses opened or closed. Residents filed 920 service requests, down 23%, with 104 for tree trims (a category no longer accepted). Crime fell 14% to 131 incidents, and violent offenses dropped 31% to 33. Two food establishments failed inspections, half of January's count.
