Ashburn pulled 23 permits in December, down from 32 the month before. But the dollar figure barely budged—$503k versus $532k—suggesting fewer projects but similar average size. Eighteen of those permits came through the express program. On the 311 front, graffiti removal requests led the pack at 118, just ahead of garbage cart fixes at 115. Crime ticked down slightly (187 incidents versus 191), and violent offenses stayed flat in the mid-50s. One restaurant failed inspection, half November's count.
