Crime doubles in Armour Square as permits crater
Total crime in Armour Square jumped 68 percent in June, with violent offenses nearly doubling from 25 to 47. At the same time, permit values collapsed by 92 percent—from $9.7 million in May to $785k—though the neighborhood still pulled seven permits, half of them through the express program. Graffiti removal requests dominated 311 calls with 128 reports, well ahead of streetlight complaints (34) and potholes (21). No new businesses opened or closed. Food inspection failures dropped by nearly 40 percent.
