West Pullman permit count jumps 70% despite value drop

West Pullman issued 51 permits in August, up 70% from July, though total value fell 37% to $409,000. Thirty-nine of those permits came through the express program. Crime dropped 15% overall, with violent incidents down 30% to 91. Service requests fell 18% to 1,197, led by tree debris cleanup (104 calls) and garbage cart issues (92). Two food establishments failed inspections. No new businesses opened or closed during the month.

West Pullman permit value doubles on express work

West Pullman pulled 29 permits in August, down from 35 the month before, but their combined value more than doubled to $3.4 million. Most of that activity came through the express permit program—24 of the 29 permits went that route. The neighborhood also logged two renovation jobs, a demolition, a new construction permit, and one elevator equipment permit. No new business licenses or closures showed up in the data.
