Permits in Washington Park dropped to $261k last month, down from $546k in September. The neighborhood issued 10 permits, four fewer than the prior month, with express permits accounting for four of them. Service requests fell 26%, led by 28 complaints about traffic signals out. Thirteen permits pulled $1.9 million in declared work in October, down from 19 permits the month before but more than double the dollar value. Six of those were express permits; three covered new construction. No new businesses opened or closed. Service requests dipped slightly to 317, led by building violations (30) and tree planting requests (27). Crime fell 16% to 183 incidents, with violent offenses down to 71. No food inspection failures this month after three in September.
