Graffiti removal requests topped Uptown's 311 calls in September, hitting 237—well ahead of the 76 rodent complaints and 71 abandoned vehicle reports. Permits dropped slightly, from 44 to 42, while their combined value fell 20 percent to $1.7 million. Most permits were quick express jobs (32 of 42). Violent crime ticked down 14 percent, from 134 incidents to 115. Service requests overall declined 11.5 percent. One food establishment failed inspection. No new businesses registered, and none closed.
