South Shore's permit value climbed to $75.4 million in March, up from $733,000 the month before—a roughly 100-fold jump. The neighborhood issued 45 permits, 12 more than February. Thirty-five came through the express permit program. Seven were for renovation or alteration work, two reinstated revoked permits, and one covered elevator equipment. No new business licenses appeared this month.

Permit value in South Shore climbed to $1.2 million in March, up 18% from February, even as the number of permits dipped slightly to 29. Most permits came through the express program. New businesses included Save A Lot, a Jewel food store, and Bright Beginners Before & After School. Crime reports rose 17% to 675, with violent offenses up to 237. Service requests increased 10%, led by abandoned vehicle complaints, water on street issues, and potholes—each category logging around 100 calls.
