Aircraft noise complaints jumped to 33,705 in April, up from 29,818 the month before—accounting for nearly all of the neighborhood's 311 requests. Permits dropped to 23 from 34, though dollar volume stayed close at $2.19 million (down 6%). Nineteen of those permits were express filings. Violent crime fell 25%, from 28 incidents to 21. One restaurant failed inspection, down from three.

O'Hare permit value jumps to $6.6 million
Permit value in O'Hare hit $6.6 million in April, up 232 percent from March, even as the permit count fell 23 percent to 23. Twenty of those were express permits; three were for renovation or alteration. Aircraft noise complaints accounted for 39,613 of the neighborhood's 39,952 service requests. Crime dropped 37 percent to 67 incidents, with violent offenses down 52 percent to 14. New licenses went to Meitheal Pharmaceuticals, a McDonald's, and several airport lounges including Berghoff Cafe and United Club outposts. Twenty-nine businesses opened; none closed.
