Permit value in Norwood Park jumped 95% in July, from $719,000 to $1.4 million, even as the number of permits fell from 32 to 27. Twenty-one express permits accounted for most of the jobs, but a couple of larger projects pushed the total up. No new businesses opened or closed. Residents filed 1,361 service requests, down 5%. Tree debris cleanup led at 146 calls, followed by garbage cart repairs and rat complaints. Crime ticked up 9% to 118 incidents, but violent offenses more than doubled, from 13 to 28.

Norwood Park's permit value jumped nearly 193% in July, hitting $2.3 million on 40 permits, up from $791k the month before. Thirty-three were express permits; three were new construction. Crime rose sharply, with 120 incidents versus 85 in June—violent offenses climbed from 20 to 29. Service requests ticked up 8%, led by garbage cart maintenance (150) and pothole complaints (147). No new businesses opened or closed. The food inspection that failed last month didn't repeat.
