New City violent crime jumps to 134 incidents
New City recorded 134 violent crimes in November, up 13.6% from 118 the month before. Overall crime rose 3.5% to 321 incidents. Service requests dropped 23% to 1,126, led by 276 graffiti removal calls. Permit activity slowed: 35 permits totaling $2.4 million in declared work, down 39% in value from October's $3.9 million. Express permits accounted for 16 of them. No new business licenses appeared, and no food establishments failed inspection.

New City permit value drops 65% to $1.95 million
Permit value in New City fell from $5.7 million in October to just under $2 million in November, a 65% drop. The number of permits also slid from 32 to 22. Most were express permits (14) or small renovations. Graffiti removal requests led 311 calls with 159, followed by 88 each for garbage cart fixes and abandoned vehicle complaints. Crime ticked down 5%, with 261 incidents. Five food establishments failed inspections, down from seven the month before. No new businesses opened or closed.
