Montclare permit value jumps 4,300% on single project

Eight permits in August, same as July, but the total value shot from $8,000 to $360,000. Seven were express permits; one renovation or alteration drove most of that dollar swing. Service requests dropped 54%, down to 333 from 722 the month before—abandoned vehicles and tree debris led the list. Crimes fell slightly, violent offenses down from 16 to 13. Three food inspections failed, up from zero in July.

Montclare permit value drops 77% to $83k

Montclare issued four permits in August, same as July, but their combined value fell from $355k to $83k. All four were express permits. Service requests ticked up 10% to 515, led by garbage cart maintenance (53 calls) and blue cart requests (42). Potholes, rodent complaints, and abandoned vehicles each drew about 38-39 calls. Crime dropped 30%, with violent offenses down from 22 to 15. No new businesses opened or closed.
