Logan Square permit value doubles to $6.2 million
Logan Square pulled 63 permits in March, up from 50 the month before, but the real jump was in dollar terms—total value hit $6.2 million, nearly double February's $3.2 million. More than half the permits (35) came through the city's express program, which handles smaller jobs. Renovation and alteration work accounted for 13 permits, followed by five each for new construction and signage. No new business licenses showed up in the data this month.

Logan Square permit value jumps to $23M
Permit valuations in Logan Square shot up 333% in March, reaching $23.2 million compared to $5.4 million the month before. The 62 permits included 9 new construction filings. New business licenses dropped by half—38 this month versus 77 in February—but still brought Los Amigos Books, Oliva Gallery, and Lulu Beauty Spa, among others. Service requests climbed 36%, led by 595 graffiti removal calls and 308 pothole complaints. Crime reports rose 25% to 379, with violent incidents up 9% to 62. Food inspection failures fell to 5 from 8.
