Lincoln Square pulled in $7 million in construction permits during August, up 15% from July despite six fewer permits overall. Express permits led the way with 20 filings, followed by eight renovation jobs and five each for new construction and signage. No new business licenses or closures showed up in the data this month.

Lincoln Square permit count jumps 56% on sign work
Lincoln Square issued 86 permits in August, up 56% from July, driven by 36 sign permits and 35 express permits. Total permit value dropped 75% to $3.9 million. Violent crime rose 48% to 49 incidents. Rodent complaints led 311 calls with 129 reports. Graffiti removal and yard waste requests also topped the list. Food inspection failures fell from eight to three.
