Eleven permits totaled $1.35 million in January, more than double December's $619k, even as permit filings slipped from 14 to 11. The eight express permits and two renovation jobs drove the value jump. Service requests climbed 36% to 840, led by 113 shared-cost sidewalk applications and 113 tree-trim requests (a category the city no longer accepts). Crime dropped 26% to 62 incidents; violent offenses fell from 21 to 16. One restaurant failed inspection.

Jefferson Park permit value falls to $502k
Jefferson Park issued 12 permits in January, down from 18 the month before, with total value dropping to $502k from $1.9 million. Six permits went to express work, three to signs. Four new businesses opened: Frank's Martial Art Tae Kwondo (a children's services facility), a 7-Eleven tobacco license, Vohra Tax & Accounting, and David Lee got a peddler license. Residents filed 620 service requests, led by 143 for shared-cost sidewalk work and 110 for tree trimming. Crime logged 51 incidents, 13 of them violent.
